That huge cushion and heel elevation makes it feel like you're walking on a cloud, I know. But it's making your feet, ankles, legs and back weaker. That is because an elevated heel like hoka shoes has pushes your body, head and posture forward. This also contributes to an anterior pelvic tilt which is where your pelvis tilts forward. This causes back pain, kneck pain and all types of issues up the kinetic chain. Hoka shoes will lead to many chiropractic appointments. Shoes that mimic barefoot walking and are minimalist is what you want, like xero shoes. This is exactly the opposite of the overly cushioned hoka shoe cloud that you currently walk on. That's because this cushion creates less mobility and flexibility.. when your ankle, feet and legs don't have as much natural range of motion they become atrophied.
