It's really a blender AND food processer (with the pulse option) for chopping things like a food processer would. This blender takes the cake and beats all other blenders on the market as far as i'm concerned. From the ground up this nutribullet takes things to the next level. The new suction cups below the blender ensure that the blender stays stuck to the counter so that you don't have any slippery (or bloody, God forbid) accidents. Just above the brilliant bottom design you have 5 settings. From extract (on the left) to low, medium, high and pulse settings (on the right). The extract method turns on then off, on then off... it's an automatic function specifically made for smoothies. It's brilliant because any clumping that may occur from any blender gets obliterated by the extract setting on nutribullet. This is because the setting turns on then off. When it turns off the smoothie settles and those hard to reach clumpy areas get demolished. Brilliant design there. Next, you have the low to medium to high settings. These allow for creating sauces, gravies, dressings and more. The high setting allows you to chop ice or cut through anything thick. The pulse settings essentially acts as a food processor. I'm so happy with this version of the Nutribullet. The nutribullet combo review was fun and well worth picking up.
