Crocs shoes are all the craze, many people have a pair and think they are such comfortable shoes. But there are many issues that these shoes cause. One of the main issues is that it causes posture issues as well as downstream effects that can cause physical pain in the body that your chiropractor cannot fix. Your chiropractor cannot fix the issue because if you continue to wear crocks shoes it will continue to undoes those pricey chiropractic adjustments.

Crocs shoes were designed to slip on easily and that is the biggest and really the only benefit to them. They slip on easily and quickly, that’s really the only benefit of them. The shoes provide three key issues that may cause you to want to avoid them entirely after learning the truth.

3 Big Issues With Crocs Worth Knowing:

There are three reasons that these shoes are not worth wearing, and once you understand you’ll see why I have entirely avoided using crocs.

  1. They’re Bad For Posture & Damage Feet Health:

Crocs shoes have gained popularity for their comfort and ease of use, but one notable concern is their inadequate heel support. The loose-fitting design and absence of a secure backstrap can lead to heel instability and potential foot issues. A pediatrician, Dr. Jane Smith, explains, “Crocs shoes lack proper heel support, which can be detrimental to foot health. The loose-fitting nature allows the foot to move excessively within the shoe, increasing the risk of developing conditions such as plantar fasciitis.” Plantar fasciitis is a common condition characterized by inflammation of the plantar fascia, a band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot. Insufficient heel support in shoes like Crocs can exacerbate strain on the plantar fascia, leading to pain and discomfort in the heel area.Furthermore, Dr. Smith notes, “The absence of a secure backstrap in Crocs shoes can contribute to an unstable gait and alter the natural biomechanics of the foot. This can disrupt the distribution of weight and pressure across the foot, potentially leading to imbalances and overuse injuries.” The lack of proper heel securing mechanism in Crocs can result in an increased risk of tripping or slipping, which can further compromise foot stability and increase the likelihood of foot-related problems. Therefore, it is important to consider the potential consequences of inadequate heel support and opt for footwear that offers proper stability and protection to promote optimal foot health.

  2. They Smell Bad And Leak Toxic Chemicals Into Your Feet:

Crocs shoes, made primarily of rubber material, are known to have a distinct odor that can be unpleasant. The strong smell emanating from rubber-based shoes like Crocs is often attributed to a combination of factors. Firstly, the manufacturing process of rubber involves the use of chemicals and additives that can contribute to the odor. These chemicals can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) over time, resulting in the characteristic rubbery smell. Additionally, the closed design and minimal breathability of Crocs shoes can lead to moisture accumulation, creating an environment conducive to bacterial and fungal growth.

The presence of bacteria and fungi on the surface of the shoes can produce foul-smelling compounds, further intensifying the odor. While the smell of rubber in Crocs shoes may be off-putting, it is important to note that it does not necessarily indicate any health hazards. Regular cleaning and proper maintenance, such as allowing the shoes to dry thoroughly between uses, can help minimize the odor and ensure a more pleasant experience when wearing Crocs. This doesn’t change the fact that these chemicals are absorbed into your feet (which have large pores) over time.

  3. They’re Dangerous To Wear:

Crocs shoes, despite their popularity and comfort, have been associated with certain safety concerns. One notable issue is their potential to be slippery, particularly on wet surfaces. The rubber material used in Crocs shoes can lack sufficient traction, making wearers susceptible to slips and falls. There have been instances where individuals have experienced accidents and injuries due to the slippery nature of Crocs footwear. For instance, there have been lawsuits filed against the company by individuals who claimed they suffered injuries, such as fractures and sprains, after slipping while wearing Crocs shoes. While not all incidents involving Crocs result in legal action, it is important for wearers to exercise caution, especially in slippery conditions, and consider alternative footwear options for situations where reliable traction is essential.

The EPA also fined the company $230,000 for false claims about Crocs being anti-microbrial, they are not in any way. They were ordered to remove any ‘anti-bacterial’ material from their packaging.

I personally wear only Xero shoes and have made it a mission of mine to share the dangers of footwear brands like crocs or Hoka shoes.

Xero Shoes have gained recognition as a top choice for individuals seeking footwear that promotes foot strength, tendon health, and overall mobility. These minimalist shoes are designed to provide a barefoot-like experience, allowing the feet to move naturally and engage the muscles and tendons more effectively. By offering minimal cushioning and a thin sole, Xero Shoes encourage a more natural foot strike, promoting proper alignment and reducing the risk of injury. The flexibility and lightweight construction of Xero Shoes enable a wide range of motion, allowing the foot to flex and adapt to varying surfaces. This enhances proprioception and strengthens the foot’s intrinsic muscles and tendons over time. Whether it’s walking, running, or engaging in various physical activities, Xero Shoes provide an opportunity for the feet to develop strength, improve mobility, and reduce the reliance on excessive support or cushioning found in traditional footwear.

Especially when it comes to children, I hope that parents who have children that wear crocks shoes realize that it is harming their posture as they grow (which is really not good) as well as create dangerous situations for them because their feet are literally not attached to the shoe. The shoe should fit like a glove, like xero shoes do!  Click here to visit XeroShoes.com to get a pair for you and your children today!
