Thieves usually plan out how they’re going to rob someone, or run a bank heist but every once in a while an opportunity to steal shows up and just stares you in the face. Testing your morals, testing your ethic and testing the devil on one shoulder and the angle on the other. One man in NYC recently dealt with this. He was walking down the street in New York City in broad daylight when he noticed an armored car completely unguarded with the back hatch open.
It turns out, one security guard went into the bank while the other went back into his truck because he forgot his cell phone. Within this 20 second window the man on camera (as you’ll soon see) looked, contemplated, basically scratched his head with his body language and probably thought something to the effect of “this is a once in a lifetime opportunity” here and now.
The man, what appears to be a Hispanic male in the age range of 50 to 60 years old walks up to the truck, and lifts an astounding 1.6 million dollars of gold in his hands, hoists it up and begins to walk away. No one has seen him since. The NYPD put out the video, but good luck finding him. I’m sure he’s pawning the gold off all over the city by now. Take a look at the astonishing event caught on film here:

We never really know what people are going through financially. During a recession times can be harder but it obviously doesn’t justify theft. There’s probably a 95% chance this man will get caught and end up doing time in prison, which in my mind is a bad risk to reward ratio.
Most of the time you won’t get away with doing wrong. Most of the time you won’t get away with theft, and even if you do that fear haunts you and you’ll be looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life. Is that really worth it? Probably not.
