‘Iron Mike’ Tyson has been gracious with fans and the media since his retirement 17 years ago, in stark contrast to his days as Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Since retirement, Tyson has professed his love for cannabis, appeared on popular sports and fighting shows and podcasts, and has generally been a model citizen in every conceivable way.

Tyson has renounced his violent past in recent years, saying that he would have been a lot more relaxed if he had smoked weed earlier in his career.

But the fighter in Tyson hasn’t gone anywhere despite these claims, as evidenced by what happened on a San Francisco airplane bound for Florida.

Video Shows Mike Tyson Repeatedly Punching, Bloodying Up a Fan on Plane

A video of Tyson punching the fan was obtained by TMZ Sports.

It shows Tyson hovering over a man in his seat and repeatedly punching him to the point where his face became bloody.

Since then, the man has hired a lawyer according to TMZ. The lawyer, Matt Morgan, represents Melvin Townsend III. He had the following to say about the incident:

“Our client is a big Mike Tyson fan. When Mike Tyson boarded the plane, he became overly excited. At first, their interaction was cordial.”

He continued saying the situation could have been avoided by Mike. The man had allegedly throw at water bottle at Tyson, an allegation Morgan denied.

“At a certain point, Mr. Tyson clearly became agitated by an overly excited fan and began to strike him in an excessive manner. This situation could have been avoided simply by contacting the flight attendant. Our client denies throwing a water bottle prior to being struck by Mr. Tyson.”

Townsend has since declined to press charges, but TMZ has speculated that a lawsuit could be in the works.

The Los Angeles Times also reported that the man was seen gesturing toward Tyson asking him “unintelligible questions.”

Now, new video has surfaced showing the man harassing Tyson in his seat, and also including the man’s alleged criminal past:
