Whenever I see a Tesla humming down the road It think they’re cool and like the sleek design and style and find them to be a good looking car. I’ve rode in a Tesla once and really enjoyed it, and now many auto manufacturers like Ford, GM and others are going electric as well coming out with really nice electric vehicles.
In certain cities however, like Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and other cities we’re seeing a worsening problem of traffic in the city. People have left the country and moved to the cities over the years and this has caused a lot of city pollution and bad traffic that is a nightmare to get caught in! Especially if you’re not from these cities and just want to get to where you need to go.
Insert The Flying Future Aircrafts
Elon Musk was quoted as saying “Well, I have been thinking about the vertical takeoff and landing jet a bit more. I mean, I think I might have something that might close. I’m quite tempted to do something about it.”
Because there is less and less room on the ground in cities we have the opportunity to use that sky space to transport people and cargo. Personal aircrafts are becoming a thing, and companies are moving in quickly to create two and four seater vertical takeoff vehicles that could forever change transportation.
There are a few companies that are leading Tesla in this space even. One is Jetoptera. A company that creates a vertical takeoff and landing vehicle that can land in your driveway and flies 200 MPH and a distance of an incredible 1,200 miles. Take a look at it here:
Another one is the Lilium 5-seater plane that takes off and lands vertically as well. This plane travels up to 300 MPH but has a shorter range of only 186 miles. This is better for traveling in the city and getting to the office or home faster. Take a look here:
Yet another one is Archer aviation. This company produced a vertical takeoff and landing plane that goes 237 MPH and has a top range of 522 miles. Take a look at it here:
The future is very much looking like an episode of star wars or star trek. We may have half of society driving and half of society flying around. Imagine half of the traffic on the roads flying through the sky to get from point a to point b. This will definitely be an economic shift as well. People who can afford these personal flying aircrafts will be able to get from home to work, work to home about 3-4x faster than those driving on the ground because in the sky you’re driving with a straight shot. There are no stoplights and you’re traveling at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour or faster.
This personal aircraft space is so new that about half the companies are private and half the companies are public. Lilium is public (ticker: LILM) and so is Archer aviation (ticker: AHCR) while Jetoptera is still a private company. One thing is for sure, they will shake up transportation in a huge way and I look forward to my first flight in these fun flying machines!
